Let's do things differently...
Most every website contains an “about” page. They’re all the same…I’m this, I’m that, I have this degree and that training – followed by a spattering of beautifully Photoshopped pictures, likely with some famous folks.
But, I want to do things a bit differently here.
You don’t really want to know about me - at least not all the superficial stuff mentioned above. You want to know whether I am the right person to help you. Because it’s not about me - it's about YOU!
So, rather than a sterile, ho-hum list of achievements, accolades and fussy pics, I'll share how I live my life and what I hold most dear in this world.
Years ago, I came up with what I call "My Lifetime Manifesto." This manifesto defines how I live along with what I believe and value most in the world.
- Each day, I will be the very best version of myself.
- It matters not how much or by how many I am loved if I don’t first love myself.
- Adversity in life is not an indication that I’m doing something wrong; rather, it is a clear sign that I am engaged, committed and growing. Adversity leads to deeper inner strength.
- My worthiness comes from within – not from achievements, accolades, material possessions or the opinions of others.
- Radically embracing a grateful mindset will always allow my blessings to shine above any problems or struggles I may have.
- It is through service to others that I will find true joy and happiness.
Want to know some fun stuff? Of course you do!
I've got an inappropriate sense of humor, am known to bust a dance move anywhere I hear good music, could stock an entire office supply store with my own personal inventory (Sharpie marker anyone?), love cake, doughnuts and pastries…and try to compensate for said love by whacking the tennis ball around the court whenever I have a chance. I have a mild obsession with Justin Timberlake, love my three children and fiancé fiercely, have a pup named Ellie Mae and feel blessed every day to call Colorado my home.
I believe it is the wisdom I’ve gained from overcoming my own personal struggles and adversity that best qualify me to help guide you as a coach. Academia is good – life’s wisdom is priceless!
Now, it's your turn...
